Duties and Responsibilities:
Health care
administrators direct and manage hospitals and other health care facilities.
They are responsible for long-rage planning, financial administration, personnel
administration, materials management, purchasing, public affairs and patient
administration.
Small hospitals may
have only one administrator, while larger facilities may have many. Some
administrators specialize in specific fields like patient administration or
purchasing.
Health care
administrators also work in HMOs health agencies, clinics, or for private
practices.
Average Salary: $35,000 - $100,000
Educational Requirements:
Students should
take challenging high school courses in business, science math, and English.
Most health care
administrators hold master’s degrees in healthcare administration or business
administration.
